Thankful For Our Kids, And Then Some...

First, of all, Happy Thanksgiving! On this day, we choose to give thanks for various things in our lives and loves, and for Mommies everywhere, the first thanks we give is always for our kids. They bring joy and happiness to our lives in so many ways. But this year, I wanted to think beyond being thankful for my kids and take stock of what else I am thankful for in my life.
Of course, the usual thanks go out to things like home, family, job, significant other, etc. But since I started this blog, I have had the benefit of some serious self analysis and been exposed to some ways of thinking that have brought me through many dark hours and lonely nights. And so, today, I want to delve into those more obscure things that I am thankful for.

I am thankful for the time I have had to reflect upon the past few years of my life. Although I had to navigate through some dark and stormy rough seas, I have drunk of the ocean and felt the presence of God through my sails. I now proudly wear the weathered signs of experience and wisdom, knowing that water is calm, and I am centered.

I am thankful for the voice that I have found, trough seemingly endless tribulations, to speak of myself and know me.

I am thankful for the introspection that my journey has given me. I now know my own soul and I have found vision again.

I am thankful that I can feel and be touched. I want love, and I know that I will feel it when it comes to me, and that my heart will be touched by the one who brings it.

I am thankful that I have learned to stop and smell the roses. And that I want to smell of perfume and scents of beauty that I had once forgotten.

I am thankful that I taste. That my appetite is healthy, in many ways, and that I can enjoy partaking of a feast of plenty.

I am thankful that I have peace.
