There are so many, many ways to generate some extra cash. Here is a list of things you can do.
Advertise services on Craigslist. Services such as:
Housecleaning
Babysitting
Lawn Mowing
Painting Inside/Outside
Writing content for other people's (businesses mostly) websites
Errand Running
Pet Sitting
You can also join www.freecycle.org and find free stuff that people are giving away in your area. Go pick it up, and sell it on Craigslist and ebay.
If you don't have a car, you can borrow one, rent one, take a bus.
Above all, post on Craigslist in the services offered section, the forums, and the personals that you're a single mom, trying to get by, and make arrangements and deals with someone who has a truck. Split the profits with them.
